The West Coast Environmental Law Association and Centre québécois du droit de l’environnement have just released a report summarizing the dramatic weakening of federal environmental laws since 2011. Download a copy of Canada's Track Record on Environmental Laws 2011-2015 and learn about how changes to the Navigable Waters Protection Act, Fisheries Act, Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, Species at Risk Act and other core pieces of federal environmental assessment legislation since 2011 are threatening many things Canadian value, like clean water, a healthy climate and the right to have a say in environmental decisions that affect them (version française ici).

To help you vote for the environment on election day, West Coast Environmental Law has produced a comparison of the major national parties’ platforms on key proposed environmental law reforms. 

The reforms were developed by ten of Canada’s leading non-profit environmental organizations working on national policy issues* to address the shortfalls in our current environmental regulatory system.
